But so far, we've been really pleased and would recommend this unit. But it was a review here on Amazon.com of this higher priced Sony 5-CD changer that persuaded me to give this a product a try. Worse, were reviews of once really great brands -- Sony.Denon -- that seemed to have become hollow name plates. Instead, we've just used it for our CD collection. So far, this Sony CD player has exceeded our expectations. When our last 5-CD changer (an Insignia) basically quit on us after just 18 months, it was disappointing to see how few 5-CD players were left on the market and how poorly most buyers found them. And so far, we've been extremely impressed with the rich sound quality, the ease of use.We haven't had a chance to try some of the new higher quality SACDs or other formats that this unit can play.
I did, and it is great. So, I went to Amazon, where I knew I would find it. She is thrilled with it and I got a nice gold star for getting her the perfect gift. My sister mentioned that her cd player to her stereo unit was broken. I went shopping to several retailers only to find that 5 disc cd players weren't to be found. Sony quality is well known and it sure does prove it here.
The changer sounds really loud and cheap. Some CD's that play fine in my car but don't play on this player. The sound is good for the CD's it plays.
My Wife loves it too.Happy Dan Great value with many details that our original player had,with the addition of being able to load CDs while playing. After some research, I chose the CE 595. Can't say enough about how well it sounds through our Klipshorn speakers. Also you can turn off the lighted display and it will come on only during a function, then turn off again automatically. Nice. The public, in general, were very pleased with it's audio quality, and I'm now in full agreement. After 2 months, the player functions perfectly, and the addition of a remote is greatly apreciated.
A wonderful feature. Would recomend to anyone. We owned a 1992 Sony 5 disc CD player that still played perfectly, but felt it was time to update the component. ALL of my CDs sound vastly improved over the original thin sounding 1992 CD player, and now I'm able to play super audio CDs as well. You can program it's default to 2 channel mode instead of 5:1.
I was of the opinion that all digital players were the same. This is a very nice unit but has a hard time playing copied cd's. Sound is great. Not true.
